long time lurker but my Treo 700wx is in the mail and on its way to my loving hands so i figured i should go head and register and join the community..

introductions aside.. this might be considered a dumb question but eh..

basically im bout go shopping for my Treo tommorow and after paying for the phone at semi retail price and also paying bills im a tad bit short on cash until the next paycheck.. but i want the full Treo customization expierience so my ultimate question isssss...

do i absolutely NEED to purchase a memory card for my phone, is that the only way to get programs on my phone? emulators? etc? or can a memory card wait for a week or so.. i could pick up a 1gb but dont wanna just get that then turn around and pick up a 4gb later waste of money

Shop around online. You can find an SD very cheap now. Sure you will have to wait a few days for shipping, but you will save enough money to make it worth it.

shoot.. my radio shack got 1gb for 20 and 2gb for 30.. which is great.. only gripe is im getting the Treo off Ebay and the guy said he is ffresh out of chargers for the Treo i would have to get my own.. so thats another 30 right there lol, never had to buy a charger in my life i always thought they were like $15 or something

but still though is that the way you would run programs from the device or do you download them to the device and run them..

Chargers on ebay are a dime a dozen, you will get a good charger for about $10. You can download programs to your phone without an SD card, but when you get one, you will have to move things around, and I think you will find it much easier waiting a few days and doing it on SD to begin with.

I bought a 2GB card from a 3rd party seller on Amazon for $12.

Also, did you check that the Treo's ESN was clear before purchasing it? I'd hate for you to find out the ESN is reported lost or stolen and the carrier won't let you activate it.

Why doesn't it have a charger? Kinda weird...

dude sells nothing but cell phones, he's a power seller, and has 99% positive feedback so i trust that the ESN is clean
