Verizon Palm Treo 700wx won't charge... What should I do with it? Repair? Sell?
 

I have a Verizon Treo 700wx here that won't charge, but it works fine when I put in a battery charged in my 700w. Any ideas how I might be able to repair it, or what it would be worth?

sounds like its either your charger or your socket in the phone. if this is the same charger you use for the 700W, then its likely the socket in the 700WX. not sure how successful you'd be selling it if it won't charge. VZW will likely give you a refurb for it if you have insurance

I don't even have service on this phone at the moment, and yes, it's a problem with the socket, not the charger. My 700w charger won't charge the 700wx and my 700wx charger will charge my 700w.

I'm ordering a screwdriver set from amazon so hopefully I'll be able to fix it if its a simple problem like a wire coming disconnected.

You can also easily find a torx screwdriver set at Home Depot for about 6 or 7 dollars. That's where I went to get my PPC tools.

Hmm, maybe I should have done that. I paid $15 for mine (including shipping), but it also saves me a trip to home depot.

have you had a chance repairing the socket and was it successful? i seem to have the same problem with my 7wx, and trying to save a little pocket change considering i had more faith in the product than buying insurance.

I haven't received the screwdrivers yet so I haven't had a change to attempt the repair. I'll post here with the results when I get the screwdrivers.

Same problem here.. I bought mine on eBay and thought it was the charger so I didn't think about sending it back because I figured it would only cost me $4 to get a new charger. I waited a few months because I had bought a 6800. Now I finally have a new charger and it doesn't work.

Did you get anywhere with yours?
