"Typical" memory left
 

I have a 700w and always have about 5.5 mb of program memory left, sometimes way less. I recently had to travel through South Dakota and have major problems with my phone. Everyone else in the car that had Verizon still had signal but my phone completely froze up, couldn't use it at all, not even the camera.

In MemMaid I notice I have running programs like...
shell32.exe, clientshell.exe, repllog.exe, gwes.exe

Just wanted to see what kind of memory everyone else usually has left or if I should be doing something different. After having no use of my phone in almost the entire time in South Dakota, it got me wondering if I have something loaded that I shouldn't.

being that i have a 700wx its a bit diff... i have 31.49mb left in program memory and 26.18 in storage

memaid and sktools r on my SD card

Those seem to be system processes, at least shell32 and gwes are...

I just don't think WA2 is a program to have on a 700w. Heck, I even ended up removing it from my 700wx so that I could get back some responsiveness and speed on my device.

If you're short on memory the first thing I would do would be to run MemMaid or SKTools to clear out your temp internet files, etc. They can hog a log of space.

I put MemMaid, and other non-desktop programs, on my card to try and help with memory. I have been debating on removing WA2, and now I think I will. I run MemMaid to try and clean up the junk left behind.

before i actually got a phone that has 128mb of mem, i used a program called upx which pretty much gave you back some memory. it shrunk .exe files and .dll files. never tried it on the wx but im sure it should work

OK I have a 700w and I here are the apps I have (all I can remember at least):

hidelogo
SPB backup
SPB pocket plus
weatherpanel (tabs 240 skin + animated icons)
rltoday
taskbar battery meter
resco explorer /registry
UItweaker
small menu
(and a bunch more I can't think of right now)

I normally have about 10 meg (can range anywhere from 5 (absolute lowest I have ever seen) to 15.

I keep everything I can on my memory card (2 gig) the only things on the device are the ones that "must" be installed directly on the device to work.

Pretty good luck with that meathod so far (my problems have all been hardware issues).
