help with mail2web...

i just subscribed to the $1.99 service for personal exchange, so i can reply with my own email address.. but i dont know how to actually set it up lol.

do i just go to my account on mail2web, add a proxy address (my email i want to use), and forward my email to my mail2web address? then set up an account on outlook on my phone?

any help is appreciated.

I think that's how it works. Except you set up the server info through ActiveSync instead of Pocket Outlook.

Ok, I set it up through ActiveSync with the details given on mail2web's site.. but now what? I never really used AS before so I'm not sure what to do with it. I have my gmail account forwarded to my mail2web address, so how to I go about checking my email now? Just sync, and theyll pop up somewhere? I'm really lost here.

If you followed mail2web's instructions you shouldn't have to do anything to receive your mail.. That is what push mail is all about, instant, automatic mail reception.

That's what I'm not understanding - which instructions to follow from mail2web's site.

In my account management, I have two areas I've been looking at:

Email settings, and ActiveSync settings.

Everyone says to just set up the activesync server the way they tell you, which I did.. but where do the emails show up?

Do I have to set up anything else, other than the activesync server? If not, how does it know what to use for sending mail, and all that?

I'm new to this, so sorry if I'm missing something easy here.

In my gmail forwarding settings, I put my mail2web exchange address there, to forward a copy of my emails that come in, so I can get them pushed to my phone.. but when I send myself a test message, it never goes to my mail2web account.

Any ideas?

*****EDIT*****
guess it doesnt work if you send yourself the message from gmail had somebody else send me a test message and it worked fine.

do i have to set up anything further to reply to emails?

Ok... this is how it works. After you set up the server on AS you are set as far as mail2web and the device go. Your new e-mail will be received in Pocket Outlook under the Outlook E-mail inbox. If you set your settings to sync as messages arrive, your e-mails will be pushed to your device as soon as they arrive to the mail2web server.

Now you need to forward your GMail messages to your mail2web account. Forward them to j-rad[at]mail2web.com if that's the e-mail for example.

Make sure you set it up so it forwards what you want, etc.

I think that's it... after a message is received via GMail it will get forwarded to mail2web, then m2w will push it to your device. And as long as you set up your proxy it will show as if you had replied from your GMail address.
