Just to throw my 2 cents in. The calling issues really sound like you could have a bad phone. It would be worth looking into at least.

I had a 700p for about 28 days before deciding to try the wx. I have been a Palm OS user for about 10 years so it was a big change for me. I'm in professional sales myself, and depend on my pocket organizer to manage my business. I will say I am very pleased with the 700wx. Yes it is unfortunate that I ad to install a few "hacks" like threaded SMS just to get the phone to how it should have come out of the box. I also remind myself that this is Palm's first attempt with PPC.

Battery drain was an issue with the 700P also. These devices just like power and there's no getting around that.

Bluetooth on the 700P was very rough. My Plantronics 510 worked very well with my WX right out of the box, and after the new bluetooth stack was released it works even better.
Now as far as listening to music through bluetooth you need an A2DP compatible headset, which mine isn't. As far as I know there isn't ANY hack out there to be able to listen to anything through your bluetooth on the 700P other than your phone calls. At least there wasn't when I owned mine in January.

I'm not going to keep going since you've already gone through with your swap. I used to be a Palm OS fanboy like you, but now I'm sold.

Oh and by the way. I have about 21 MB available on mine and I have a lot of stuff on there. Some of that comes down to efficient use of my SD card, which is also something you would also have to do on the 700P.

My wife and I both have Plantronics 510's for use with our 700wx's and we love them!

Okay guys I want to say I appreciate your advice. Its around 4am my time and luckly for me A) I don' thave to go to work, B) I was too busy today to order the 700p and C) you guys helped me to realized maybe I didn't do something right since you have so much space and I didn't.

So today I decided to reset my device and start over again from stratch. With that said, I installed the apps to my storage card all except the MMS app which I was told to install to my device. This time around I have about 47MB in free space available on my device. Weird but I guess I perhaps did something wrong since this is my first time having to install so much to my phone. With that said, I think I may keep my phone now. Explore some new things and kinda work out this love/hate relationship with the Treo 700wx.

I'm sure many newbies will experience the same problems as me. So with that said, hopefully this helps! Thanks for your responses!

No problem. One thing to think about with the SD card installs. As a rule of thumb, anything that is on the today screen or runs very frequently should be installed to main memory. If it's just an app you like to have. SD card is fine. also it's usually no problem to uninsttall from SD and reinstall in main if something arises.

let me know if I can help with anything else too.

If you are thinking of posting warez, cracked, or keygen programs. Don't do it.

moving apps to sd card

I would appreciate some help on moving apps to the card on my 700wx. I have a few originally installed on the car, but since I hover around 3-4m of storage (even after using memmaid) I'd like to do the suggestion of moving a few less used apps to the card.
What is the best way to do that? My Splashphot images are already stored directly on the card, but I tried moving Splashphoto app to the card using Resco. It moved but now the Pgm launcher doesnt know how to find/launch the app. I did launch it from the Resco file manager, but,
A) is there a way to correct where the launcher is pointing to?
B) is there a more appropriate way to accomplish my goal?
Thanks!

glad that you decided to stay with the WX. with ppc's, it takes alot of trial and error to get your device, "just right" it took me a few months to learn all of the tips and tricks and being a member of this site has helped me tremendously. all i can say is clear your internet explorer memory every couple days, do this by going to internet explorer, menu, tools, options, memory, and lastsly "delete files" do that every couple days and losing memory should'nt be an issue. also, if you are into ringtones, dont save too many to the device, especially if they are in MP3 format. save one to the device that you plan on using, then save the rest to your memory card. some of the ringtones are around 500kb or more and they add up in space real fast. with your battery, i get more from mine if i turn off the location privacy and set it for 911 only, it is that tiny little compass looking icon on the today screen next to the bluetooth icon, and adjust your screen brightness. soft reset every few days as well, it only takes a few minutes and it clears out alot of temp junk that gets stored on your phone. and last thing i can think of, is to stop your running programs every so often too. these devices are not like windows pc's to where you open something, hit X and it goes away, the programs stay minimized and you need to click stop all every so often. i have all the apps you have and more and i have 43.25mb of free storage space left oin my device. hope this helps and sorry it was so long. WHEW!!!
