annoying missed call problem

ok, i have no idea what's going on with my phone, but it's annoying the heck out of me.

whenever i miss a call i get a missed calls notification on the bottom of the screen and on my phonealarm menu. usually when this happens things work fine.

however, when someone calls and i press the end button to have it go straight to voicemail, there is no bottom notification, but there is a phonealarm one. at this point my phone's led starts blinking forever or vibrating forever and i don't know how to stop it. i view the phonealarm note and there are no other notifications to view.

the only thing i can think of is that since the missed call notification doesn't show up when i push calls straight to voicemail, that it's hanging my phone since i can't dismiss it. any ideas? thanks.
