Hotmail acting goofy?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My hotmail acct is my main email acct. That is, as soon as an email comes in, it shows up on the phone. I had to do a hard rest this weekend and perfomed a restore using spb backup. The only things i restored were email setting and contacts. I have done this before with no issue.

Now email does not show up automatically and when i hit send.receive to either check for mail or send a message from the outbox, it says "finished" right away. So, I now have messages stuck in my outbox and can't receive new messages.

Are there settings that I am missing?

Thanks guys.

Since you restored from backup, did you check the delivery preferences, filters, settings, etc. are correct? Did you sign out and back in Pocket MSN?

All of the settings are the same. I signed into pocket msn and i can now send/receive emails but only when i click send/receive. Since this is my push acct. new emails should come in automatically? I never had the acct set up to check every so many min. like I would with my yahoo or comcast. Everything was fine and dandy before my last hard reset.

Is there a way to delete the phones main hotmail acct and start over? Is that recommended? This is my work email so i kinda need this bad boy to work correctly.

You would have to have your hotmail account set up with an exchange server to use true "push" mail. If your are using pocket msn you have to set it to check every XX minutes.

Yeah I've never heard of Pocket MSN acting as push e-mail. I've heard this feature is included with WM6's Windows Live, but not Pocket MSN.

I dont ever really use pocket msn. I tried signing in and out to see what would happen. When i initially got the phone i set up my regular hotmail acct, not pocketmsn hotmail. I dont have the box checked to look for email.

I dont have an exchange server at work, i think?

i jsut initially signed in as companyname@msn.com and then my password. From then on email was sent o the phone automatically.

Really? Weird... can't say I've tried it that way. What other apps do you have installed?

Phone Alarm
Battery Pack Pro
UI Tweaker
Hidelogo
MMS Hack
SPB Backup

When I hard resetted my phone and restored the first time everything worked fine. Now when I did a hard reset and restored exactly the same way hotmail is sketchy?
