any way to test cooked roms with emulator?
 

I'm not too familiar with cooking my own roms, i usually just flash roms that people have already made... but I'm starting to become more interested in cooking my own rom for my 700wx or my Mogul (if utstarcom pulls their heads out and fixes my #!@*$%^ screen)

my question is... can i download some sort of emulator that will allow me to run a cooked rom on my computer (XP) before I flash to my phone and kill myself for bricking it? I did a search on this site as well as with google to find some info and I've downloaded some emulators and SDKs from microsofts site... but I'm not sure if it's what I should be looking for.

anyone have any helpful info? forgive me if it's already been said and done, i really did search.
