Any free hack/app to relocate pIE to Storage card?
When I had the iPaq H5555, I remember having a free hack/app that forced temp files, cookies, etc. to be written on the storage card. I can't remember the app. Does anyone know or have a link for one?

Not free but you can download and use it during the demo period. SKTools or Tweek2k2 both can do that.

I think having the temp files on a SD card would cause PIE to shutdown sporadically.. at least that's what happened on my system.
Anyone has update on this? |
I was able to change the location for everything, through trial and error. I DID find that pIE would crash if the path for the Temporary Internet Files (Cache) was long.
For example, the original path I used for the Temporary Internet files location was \Storage Card\Temp\- Pie\Temporary Internet Files. Whenever I started pIE, it would shut down, almost immediately. I then tried, just using the location of \Storage Card\Temp which happened to be cause no problems with pIE. I later changed the path to \Storage Card\Temp\- Pie\Temp which still does not cause any problems with pIE. The path for Cookies: \Storage Card\Temp\- Pie\Cookies appears to not cause any problems. The path for History: \Storage Card\Temp\- Pie\History appears to not cause any problems as well. I used SKtools, but after doing a hardware reset, I actually used Rescoe File Explorer to edit the registery, which is at: HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders Keys are: Cache Cookies History So you can use any registry editor to modify just the above settings. |
