Can't Change my Ringtone location on my Treo 700wx

I have tried to change the location of my ringtones on my Treo 700wx by following the guide on editing the registry:

HKCU\ControlPanel\?SoundCategories\Ring\Directory = "\Storage Card\Rings\" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

When I go to Settings\Personal\Sounds & Notifications\Manage\Menu\Add

To add an MP3 as a new ringtone, it still continues to save it to the original location of:

\Windows\Rings

This eats up all my space and wont work.

Is there any way to set the phone so ringtones are saved on my storage card and not my limited phone storage memory?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many users have tried that hack and there hasn't been very successful stories yet. Even if you get it to work, the phone will delay to play your ringtone since it's on your memory card. Also, if you are using mp3s as ringtones, what I do is use an mp3 editing software to extract about 35 secs of each song and lower the quality a bit, then just transfer that file to the phone. That way:
A. It plays the portion of the song I want.
B. It saves space.
C. You don't have to mess with your registry.
D. You get the same results you would if you had the complete file.
