PRE-AKU2.3 DEVICES

How do I know if my 700WX is a "PRE-AKU2.3 DEVICE"??

I don't know how to find out, but I can tell you it is pre-AKU 2.3

Go to:Start > Settings > System > About

You will see the "Build" in parenthesise. example from 700wx 14929.2.2.1 (bold numbers indicate AKU).

The 750v ships with aku 2.4 so why cant we get that on our 700wx?

We haven't even gotten an official update with the threaded SMS app and A2DP, I think asking for another AKU is actually pointless. I hope Palm catches up quickly with WM devices, the Treo 680 came out after the 700 series and they have updates already.

Asking for another aku from Palm/Windows is pointless. It would also be pointless if i had a ppc6700, to ask for an aku update from htc. Meanwhile htc devices are being hacked and moded with updated aku's so my point is even if it must be a hacked aku, I wouldnt mind having it, since that seems the easiest way to do it. Theaded sms and a2dp have been hacked and moded from the 750.

Trust me, I know about threaded SMS and A2DP. But these are still not official, and the threaded SMS app is very unstable.

However, until Palm releases a new ROM update for the 700 series, we won't be seeing hacked ROMs...

I don't believe it's pointless since many developers release new ROMs and sometimes AKUs for their existent devices. But as I said, we won't see any hacked/custom ROMs until Palm releases an official one for the 700 series. That's how it usually works...
