going back to palm
 

my friend was ported to the 700w (sprint) after she had palm before. Sprint will not let her go back to the palm OS unless she buys the new phone! Can she cook a Palm ROM? Any thoughts-she hates windows and has been as far as retention who said she has to keep the model she has.

As far as i know this is impossible...idt you could just make a palm rom and flash the 700w....

It's probably best that she buys a phone made for the Palm OS, if that's what she wants. Can't make a 700w run Palm OS. But she should be able to buy an 'older' Palm OS phone. No reason she has to buy the latest one.

Can't flash vice versa. Palm uses 320x320 resolution screens, Windows mobile is 240x240 on the treo 700 I believe.

There are a few options however.

1. Hit up the trade forum. See if someone wants to do a trade.
2. Hit up the fleabay and see if someone wants to offer up some cash. You'll have to pony up the rest.

If you're willing to settle for a 650. i'm sure there are people who would be happy to do a trade or even offer enough money to obtain a used 650.

and finally......Look into Styletap.

It's a program you run on your windows mobile device that lets you run palm OS programs.

As to how well it works i'm sorry I can't say.
