How can i make an mp3 an alarm sound?
 

I cannot figure out how to make an mp3 an alarm sound. When you tap on the "bell" above the time in the alarms tab, you only get a few items to chose from. In the sounds folder, I have changed the sound for "reminders" to the mp3 i want to play for the alarm, but the alarm setting conflict with it. Help!

Somebody can correct me if I am wrong but I believe that for alarms the sound has to be in .wav format and it has to be short in length and it has to be dropped into the windows folder.

okay, can i just rename my file to be .wav or it actually has to start out in that format?

It probably wont play if its not encoded in wma properly. Just go get a conversion tool to convert it back to WMA

If you have winamp you can convert the mp3 to wav format. To trim you mp3 to lenght, use something like MP3Trim(google it, its free).

okay, i just downloaded winamp. Just a second ago norton popped up saying "detecting possible security risk, trojan.winamp." I know a trojan is a virus. Whats up with that???

did you download winamp from winamp's website? If you use winamp to convert mp3 to wav, press alt+s, go to plugin, output use out_disk.dll and remember to change it back to what it was earlier

you can also look for a program called ringo v 1.4. awesome program and no need to convert your mp3's.

who can tell me what is the maxim length of the music in .wav.I convert one music in .wav and it's lenth is 2'30",i can see the music in the option but when i choose it,the sound dosen't come out.
