Option Key - How to use it...
Okay so in the Palm 650 you could press the option key ONCE and then the next key and the secondary program would run.
In the Palm 700 you have to press and HOLD the option key and the next key for the secondary program to run. Is there a way to change it to pressing it ONCE and not having to HOLD it down?? Thanks once again for all the help :) |
Not that I am aware of but I know what you are saying. You got any idea how many people I have hung up on trying to lock my phone so I can put it back in my case while talking on my bluetooth. I have to stop what I am doing and use 2 hands to lock the PPC.

I hear ya man... u don't always have two hands free....
I like the Treo 700, but the Treo 650 was a much more "smarter" phone to use i feel. Easier to use too. That being said, i've only had my Treo 700 for a few days now. So once i am use to it, i might thing otherwise, but so far, i think the Treo 650 was a more user friendly phone. |
I am convicned that WM phones HAVE to have a seperat soft power button. Using the end key as the soft power button doesn't work. Unfortunately, there's no way to fix this but you may try downloading a 3rd part app like AE Button Plus and setting one of your buttons to soft-power off, like the enter key or something.

Oh u know what else sux... u can only make a 30 second video on the TREO 700. On the Treo 650 i could go on as long as i had memory!!
|
With the camera app open, hit the right softkey and go to Options. Hit the video tab and change it to 'No limit' under 'Time limit for videos'
|
Oh wow, that was easy to fix wasn't it hahaha
Thanks man... I'm reading through the must haves.... but any other useful pointers??? |
Why is it that the keypad on the Treo 700 always SOOO BRIGHT???
Why can't we turn the brighness down on the keypad??? Is it something i just don't know how to do or is it not possible?? |
its bright so you can see, but they should a dim setting to save battery. but since there is non out(i think), you either have to live with it or use the hack to be able to switch it on and off
|
If you want to turn it off during the day to save batter you can use Pocketmax's Treo Keylight freeware app:
http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?topic=3209.0 I use it, it's awesome! |
