Search Program- Painfully Slow

I want all of my calendar items on my Treo 700wx because my job requires me to be the historian and such. I just got the 700wx, so I am a noob at this point. After syncing my old Treo 600 to outlook, I used Active sync (set to ALL Calendar Items) to transfer my appts to my new Treo 700wx. It took at least 1.5 hours to transfer 6000 calendar items to the 700wx, but they are now in the device. I tried to search for when we were last in Paris using the search program and it took so long (at least 10 minutes) that I abandoned the search. Have I exceeded the capabilities of the outlook calendar and/or search program or is there something else wrong? I have never had any problems with my Treo 600 calendar and search functions. Is there a better way to have my appts and be able to search for them in the Treo 700wx? I am new to the 700wx, so I apologize if this is a silly question.
