turn gps off to save battery?

so if i turn off the gps when not needed will this save the battery at all? i know this is a trick with android.

ya im sure turning of gps and even data will save batt life..

GPS is an absolute killer on the battery.

Def will save batt power. There are patches in preware for a quick gps toggle and a data toggle.

yeah im not turning the data off but i did turn off gps and the background google data. still didn't help much.
