Create a Secret Folder

Is there a way to create a hidden folder for pictures on the pre? Everytime I try to it still shows up in the list of pictures. Please help. Need to keep these pictures, but I don't want everyone who asks to see my phone to see them. Thanks.

Re: Create a Secret Folder

You can connect your Pre to you pc via USB. Then on your pc open your pre up and you can create a new folder for storing private pics. By the way, you'll see a folder called DCIM...that's where you're pics are stored.

late,
Coz

I tried that, but the pics still show up in the photos list. Do you know any other way? I came from a Touch Pro and you could just hide a folder inside a folder and it was kind of hidden.

Re: Create a Secret Folder

Yeah, the photo app will find photos in all of the USB-accessible folders. What you want to do is make them hidden (nix style) by including a period as the first character in the folder name. For example... instead of "Private", use ".Private" (without the quotes, of course).

Now, the annoying part about this is that you won't be able to access those images in the photo app either. But, you do have some options.

Notes:

1. Internalz will see the hidden directory, so you can use it to view the photos.

2. If Palm ever cooperates with Jason and provides some info on the index update mechanism, you could use Internalz to remove the period from the folder name. For now, this doesn't work because it won't actually update until you reboot or put the phone into USB mode and then take it back out (which to me defeats the purpose).

3. If you're just looking for private mobile storage, then it's all good.

Anyway... yeah, include a period as the first character... that's the actual answer to your question.

Hope this isn't a dumb question, but is Internalz a program? If so, where do I find it? Please let me know. Thanks for the info, trying it now.
