Pre Camera Zoom?

Heya...

I have read in many posts and blogs that the Pre camera doesn't have any kind of zoom. Is this true? Not even Digital?

Re: Pre Camera Zoom?

Correct. Even if digital zoom was available I wouldn't recommend it since it cause pics to come out fuzzy. You can alway zoom in on a pic after you take it.

Yeah, I agree usually, but there are times when I like to play with composition on the screen. Especially if I don't have the ability to crop on the device, it saves a step.

But. Still not a deal breaker. c'MON paycheck!

Re: Pre Camera Zoom?

You'll be quite amazed at the picture quality on this device. Check out the pic thread if you haven't yet.

Oh I am already a believer regarding the quality of the camera. I am pretty sure that there will be added editing functionality to the camera and albums added later.

I need some basic editing software. Even a crop in camera would be better than nothing (and fairly simple i'd think...but then I am not a developer...

The resolution is great. Close up shots in sunlight are fantastic, but low light, or anything further than three feet away is a problem. I could do with using a crop in lieu of a zoom maybe...but there is no editing function so I can't. Also since there isn't a way to store photos in a better manner than photo roll and all photos, i dont keep the shots on the camera.

All that said i STILL use this camera more than i did with my touch pro.

I have high hopes for the next update.
