ok so i just got my pre and i was going to try to sync my email but on the tp it was a huge mess because it would sync all your email contacts with your phone contacts and well yea it was just a huge mess

so my question is if i try to sync my email will it do the same thing and if it does is there a way to stop it?

Re: email sync question

You can sync Google, Facebook, and Exchange contacts. Since this is my personal device I use MS Outlook 2k7 at home for my Hotmail account. I used Pocket Mirror to sync my Hotmail contacts this way. So far from what I can tell there is no other way to sync Hotmail contacts. Of course someone else may know a way to.

Re: email sync question

It didn't sync my contacts directly. I had to use Pocket Mirror.

Re: email sync question

You could create a gmail account and have a copy of your hotmail email forwarded to there. Just don't put any contacts in the new gmail acount and set up that account on your pre to receive as items arrive...in theory anyway - havent tried this yet but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Re: email sync question

I was able to sync my MSN email without syncing my contacts. When you go into Email then Preferences & Accounts click on Add An Account... it will sync your email and nothing else. (you can then set it to sync every few minutes to hours). Hope this helps!

*EDIT* There are no extra steps or software needed. It was very simple.
