Some of the things I initially p***** on the iphone for, the 3gs w/ 3.0 now has, like copy and paste, video recording, and voice control.

The fact remains though, I've had these features now since I bought the Touch Pro, which means the money was well spent on the most practical thing at the time.

To be honest, next year when my Sprint contract runs out, I'll seriously consider whatever Apple's cooking for the next iPhone. They hired all those graphic chips people, so I think they've got something good brewing.
Next batch of phones better be using Tegra chipsets. Even though the new Cortex A9 from TI looks very promising. Basically a dual core and up version of what's in the Pre and iPhone 3GS.

Well for a while there, it seemed like the news at least once a week would talk about Apple hiring yet another person who's specialty has to do with gpu's. I have a feeling they are coming up with something on their own that might even compete with tegra. Heck, they might have something to compete with ion as well if they release a netbook or something like that.

Re: iPhone SMACKDOWN

This is what I think should happen (let me know if you agree)

Palm should let this be a temp solution (sync w/ ITunes) but should create a software like ITunes that connects to Amazon. I mean Amazon content will diff pick up. I can see a Kindle App and Pre using this software to download E-Books ect.

So basically a Amazon Music Library software, that connects purchasing to Amazon and include Palm App store.

Agree, disagree?

Re: iPhone SMACKDOWN

That's a pretty good idea. They could also form a partnership with MediaMonkey, since it has Amazon MP3 already built in. The only issue is that it's strictly an audio program. You wouldn't be able to sync video.

Still, it would be nice if Palm eventually created their own media player that included transcoding for the Pre's supported formats.
