Make sure your gps is turned on so you aren't only pulling from the cell towers. Usually it will be off if your are using only agps.

The location settings are a bit confusing. I leave mine on at all times, but I don't think that means it's ACTIVELY using GPS when it's enabled.

I should probably try some tests, by disabling location, and opening google maps to see if it can lock.

If not, then there's really no way to NOT use GPS, and pull signal from towers--they both come together. A-GPS pulls instant, then GPS fine-tunes... the way A-GPS is supposed to work, but WM could never get quite right--at least not on Sprint, and I heard it was worse on AT&T.

Re: GPS Performance?

No problems and at all. And I love the way "tweed" will give my location. I didnt have any lag on my TP at all either. I set it dso it would give me my next turn miles before I needed it,.

I haven't used Tweed much, but I am glad the the photos get GPS-tagged as well... even if you are inside a building... it gets the coordinates from towers and WIFI, or last-known GPS. This thing has a LOT going for it. I just wish a few other aspects were ironed out, but overall I'm very happy.

Re: GPS Performance?

Friday afternoon I decided to use the Sprint Navigation to locate an address and drive to it. It worked just as well as it did on my Treo but when I got about 2 miles from my house it kept saying that the GPS signal was weak. Actually completely lost the signal and would not connect back up even after closing and reopening Navigation. Not until I reset the device did it start working again.

Weird, I haven't had that happen yet.

Re: GPS Performance?

That's happened to me as well. Thankfully I was testing it at home and not driving :-\ Hope it's not a common occurance. Still love the phone though.
