Web OS update

I went today to a Sprint store to play with the phone, after playing with the update utility, the phone started updating to Web OS 1.0.something... Is this a real update or just an outdated phone?

Just a heads up.

1.0.2 was a real update. Depending on where you got your phone, some units already had it and others were able to update to it right away.

Nice little update. A number of under the hood things but the best was they added a Clock/Alarm App (was still amazed they weren't going to include one).

The clock app either gives you a funky analog clock or a digital flip clock ala HTC TouchFlo3D. Alarms display in the notification bar when first turned on but you can get rid of that notification and they'll still go off at the appropriate time. Minor annoyance though is it seems to only allow alarms to go off at 5's (so 5, 10, 15, 20, etc).

The update also fixes some problems found in the email and calendar, as well as speeds up the camera's ability to take multiple shots back to back. There should be several more updates to come with this new OS as their are a few bugs.

I gotta hand it to Palm, they really came out with a winner. Coming from a WM phone, and carrying a Blackberry, the Pre is perfect, and I find it more 'touch friendly'

A new update came out today if I'm not mistaken. 1.0.3.

There will be many many many more updates to come... In fact too many to even worry about keeping up with in the forums. It's a given that updates to WebOs WILL be rolling out now and well into the future.

i'm rather impressed by the number of updates that palm has put out so far, at least in comparison to the slowness of HTC

Has anyone hacked this OS yet?
I'd like to have a way to change settings easier (change screen sensitivity, modify menu views, etc), create [sound] profiles, modify the main screen, and modify the launcher.
Also, is there any sort of voicedial/voicecommand capability?

I'm a definite n00b here- just got this device a few days ago. Not impressed at first, but I'm liking it more and more.
