Re: VZW Droid could cost as much as $75 above plan rates for Data, Tethering, Exchang

Anything over 5gb on Sprint induces overage charges according to their website. The PDANet software that allows the Droid to tether also sends the GPS data to your laptop like you mentioned. You are one of the very few people that are paying for any of the carriers tethering service. There's really no way they can tell your tethering unless maybe you use it in place of having internet access in your home.

So, thats an additional whopping $75 just be able to have Data, Tether, and use Exchange??!!?!!?

This is why I left VZW. Besides, why do they insist on calling a 5 gig cap "Unlimited". I use almost 4 gigs a month on my Sprint account and I maybe tether one day at most.
check my sig!! this is just what verizon says so the uninformed customer will belive and follow but well researched customer like most people on here and xda know what is the real deal!!(i said most not all)!! as long as ur phone is steath teathering they cannot tell the difference!! check my sig for verizon plan!!

I remember reading somewhere (I think on the sprintusers forum) that sprint's data plans were truly unlimited. I could be wrong on that, I will look for the link and post it if I find it.
For 10 a month I would surely add that to my plan. Sero 500

Re: VZW Droid could cost as much as $75 above plan rates for Data, Tethering, Exchang

The 15 dollars for exchange support is as I am told is for more than one exchange account. IE multiple email exchanges.

As for tethering, don't download porn, warez, music, movies, etc. and you will be fine.

I average less then 1 meg of data usage a month. I believe the plan is a waste and wish you weren't forced into it to use a smartphone. It seems though all carriers with decent coverage force some sort of data plan for a smart phone anymore.

I checked and I think I used 200 megs for part of a month on my Alltel plan so I should be good.

I thought that the 15 dollar fee had been revealed to be a fee to use an exchange account offered by verizon.

Just checked mine too, halfway through this billing cycle, and I'm at 200mb also. That does even include some tethering. I need to start using it more apparently lol.

The last thing I read on it said that it was only for business accounts. Not saying that that is fact, but I do know it didnt affect my personal account any.

With sprint, there is no cap for data on your cell phone. So, I never have to worry about data overages for tethering.
