Sprint debuts EV-DO Rev. A today

http://www2.sprint.com/mr/news_dtl.do?id=13980

EV-DO, Revision A is up and running in San Diego, but other cities will be online by the end of this year.

Right now, I am hoping the 6800 will enable video downloads on youtube.com and other Flash dependent sites.

my area is in the list, but what's the point if my 6700 can't take advantage of it. I'm not ready for a new phone yet..

Not sure if I'm gonna like the 6800. Seems like going back to the size of the 6600.

if they keep it around the same size as the 6700 I'll bite.. why not spend another 600+ on a phone..

That would make a lot of money spent in the past 2 years on phones..
the 6700 I can't believe I've had for almost a year not.. the 6600 only lasted me 8 months..

6800 won't be able to do Youtube anymore than the 6700 or 700wx can do it, that is it won't unless someone comes out with a work around (there already is one for converting youtube videos, then downloading them) or Youtube in conjunction with Macromedia come out wiht a "mobile" codec.

In other words it has nothing to do with WM or the hardware.

If you have the required Desktop configuration, you can setup and use Orb (www.orb.com -- it's free) to stream YouTube or GoogleVideo videos to your phone. There are Orb plugins for Firefox and IE that allow you to 'tag' a video and then access it via your mobile when you login to your Orb account. I have used it on the 700wx and it works perfectly.

the only workaround that I know of is using Orb 2.0

with orb you can search and stream youtube and google videos..
