just played with the hero and OMG that phone is sick! question, are there any free apps floating around for it like for the winmo phones or is it just set up for purchasing apps? wanna get it but wanna wait. confused but feel that many more phones will coming out soon

Yes, there is an Android Market available via the phone which has free and pay applications. I understand it has quite a bit of applications available.

I am waiting to see what Verizon comes up with in regards to Android phones. I think I am going to switch to it once they release one. I am hoping it is the HTC Hero.

Yes it has ALOT of free apps, and even alot of the pay apps have free "lite" versions too. The only app i've paid for so far is the Bloo facebook app. It KILLS the winmo app and the iphone app as well I think.
