Shazam available for Windows Mobile

http://techkritik.com/2009/10/10/sha...indows-mobile/

It's not too long before other popular apps start showing up on Windows Mobile.

Shazam sounds too much like 'ShamWow'! I'm already annoyed.

The app is absolutely the greatest when you just need to know the name of a song. It records a sample and a few seconds later a name, album, and artist come up.

Thanks, Balend. Know which database(s) it runs the samples through?

I believe they run samples off their own databases, but I'm not entirely sure.

pointless for me as i dont listen to mainstream .. rap pop crap rock etc.. mostly old school metal thrash and death metal.. hell i dont even have the radio in my car hooked up,lol i just run mp3s off my flashdrive to my deck.. this would be cool for my 11 year old daughter, though

Same here. I carry my own music with me on mp3s. Or keep my Pandora stations on. The product name is unfortunate. Has nothing to do with Captain Marvel legend. Dumb.

You might be surprised, I've seen it identify some pretty obscure stuff.

Same here, I have thrown some of my 70's prog and 50's jazz & blues and it nailed them all. It is handy when listening to KNAC.COM, when they have their specialty shows on it's great to find out what Metal or Thrash they are playing if they don't announce it. :)

There was a little flash animation about piracy that was floating around on the web for a while (can been seen and heard here http://www.cristgaming.com/pirate.swf ) and Shazaam was even able to identify that this song came from a childrens television show called "Lazy Town". I was just goofing around cause I thought someone just made it up, but I was shocked when it actually ID'd the song lol.
