OLD news. Its been known since at Least 2002 or so that not only hackers, but the US Government can tap into phones, turn them on, use them, call on them etc.

They can do this, so long as the battery is in the phone,

Did I mention they can also implement code that will activate the phone on their end when it voice recognizes you?

Talk about the new age of phone tapping. Be afraid

There's a whole lot of fear and very little information in this story. This kind of story is used to generate hits and therefore revenue. What kind of cellphones are affected? Are there security measures consumers can take?

Law enforcement has been using cellphone hacks to gather evidence on organized crime for some time, but how readily available is this technology?

If $30 let you spy on anyone, nobody would be using a cellphone.

Yeah, I doubt the Government will be casually listening in on conversations in general.
On a Need to Listen Basis Only :)
They need special supeonas sp? to Listen in on conversations, don't they?
Oh yeah, I forgot. They can get those signed anytime.
The World is getting smaller regarding how easy it is to track others.
As Technology advances, it becomes easier and more tempting for Privacy Rights to be circumvented with a click of a mouse...alright.....a few clicks :(

It was just a few years ago, I could get a cheap scanner and listen in to analog cell phone calls... Didn't stop most folks back then from using them...

Don't panic everybody!The only devices that can be hacked like this are the iPhone and the Touch Pro 2.
