UX Evangelist today is suggesting that Windows Mobile 7 already is in Beta and in fact, will be revealed in November at PDC (Professional Developers Conference) 2009. Of course we're expecting Steve Ballmer to drop some info on WM7 at CES 2010, but that doesn't necessarily preclude something at PDC either.

On top of that, UXE has scoured LinkedIn to find any info on developers and what they've put on their resumes in regards to WM7-- it is quite the list with many technologies mentioned.

So can developers expect an actual beta in their hands of WM7 in November? Read on for the clues and grab that salt shaker--it's speculating time!

Why 6.5 then? because they promised? Meh, at this point they should skip WM6.5 and jump in for 7 so its on par with W7 in october.

As for looks, looks like an Iphone Clone, and ZuneHD origin

It doesn't look like an iPhone clone at all. It looks like they skinned WM6.5. (There's no way that's actually WM7, it's gotta be a mock-up, or something)

They need a complete overhaul of WM otherwise they're toast.

i second this. i really hope this is a fake look (its been around for years). Microsoft better step up there game if they don't want to lose the entire market ](*,)

Well it could be like Vista and 7. Looks pretty much the same but 7 performs or atleast seems to perform much better. Because of all the customization programs for Winmo that would be fine with me. Though to people who haven't winmo before that might not look to good.

I wonder if windows is trying to close the gap between smart phone and pocket pc edition of its main tiered devices...
I'll wait till CES and see what the cooks can do to it (Da_G you are being paged LOL)

da_g said he had his hands on a very alpha build of wm7 but it was mostly code work, no gui stuff then.
