HTC 2010 Roadmap Rumors: Leo, Mega, Rome

pocketnow.com/rumor/htc-2010-roadmap-rumors-leo-mega-rome

With HTC still delivering products from its 2009 roadmap slowly, it seems that a recent leak is revealing what may be the first part of HTC's 2010 roadmap. Not much is known about the devices, other than that they will be named Leo, Mega, and Rome, from an online auction of a charger bearing compatibility with said names. However, we do have speculations that the once cancelled Omni design will be like HTC's phoenix rising in the form of the HTC Leo.

The Leo presents an interesting opportunity for gaming development in the Windows Mobile community, being released with Open GL and a clamshell design and a rotating screen like a mini tablet. The design could take on the Nintendo DS platform and the Open GL capabilities could make it a venerable competitor to iPhone games.

Whatever the case may be, we hope that HTC delivers its recent promise of a 3.5 mm headphone jack to the Leo, Mega, and Rome.

Re: HTC 2010 Roadmap Rumors: Leo, Mega, Rome

More to add to the 2010 line-up.

phonearena.com/htmls/UPDATED-More-rumors-about-HTC-Leo.-HTC-Mega-to-succeed-Touch-3G-article-a_6107.html

looks like the speculations on HTC Leo are to get more and more intense. According to the Tweakers.net site, the Leo will actually be a WM6.5-powered, Diamond2-like device, lacking a hardware keyboard and sporting a large touch-sensitive screen. However, the source doesn’t seem to reject the rumor about Leo’s clamshell form-factor which we told you about yesterday, and goes on to inform that there’s going to be a 3.5mm jack on board, as well as Opera Mobile 9.5 browser preloaded.

In addition, a new HTC phone, called Mega, is said to be in the works too. Now, the Mega also seems to fall into the category of Windows Mobile 6.5-based handsets, while the information points it would come to succeed Touch 3G. For now, all we know about it is the screen resolution of 240x320 pixels.

As before, we have no idea of when we might see these handsets live, but we'll be waiting.

*Update*: The ai.rs blog claims to have revealed the specifications of the HTC Leo. The info confirms it would be running on WM6.5 and goes on to list a giant 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 5MP camera with autofocus and dual LED flash, 320MB RAM, 512MB ROM and a 1GHz Qualcomm chipset. Check out the image below for the full list of provided specs, but still, keep in mind these are far from official.
