Samsung Omnia II (i8000) Verizon release

So the rumor is that Verizon retailer's will have the phone July 17th. I have trouble believing this for several reasons, but most notably because I've called around to a few Verizon Wireless stores and none of the representatives have heard of the phone, let alone received information and literature on it.

Anyone heard anything else?

I don't believe it as there is nothing on VZW site that would suggest the Omnia is going to be discontinued.

Re: Samsung Omnia II (i8000) Verizon release

I swung by a few VZW stores today on my way home and none of the attendents have heard of it. However they told me they usually don't get a forwarning of new phones, they just receive them one day.

Even so, I'm beginning to think this July 17th thing won't happen.

Re: Samsung Omnia II (i8000) Verizon release

expect a christmas release. Talked to knowledegable employees whom said they still are selling the originals too much, and the only logical move verizon usually makes to cut a phone thats actually selling is at christmas. Hopefully the omnia 2 doesnt have motherboard issues. slim chance the omnia pro hits verizon is the only reason i am still there.

Funny, thats the opposite I heard. Two attendents from two different stores told me that the original omnia didn't sell well and had a lot of problems.
