Re: CNET First Look HTC Touch Pro2

I wish they'd explain the bad a bit more...
Quote:
The Bad

The smartphone is heavy and bulky. No U.S. 3G support on this version and it's expensive. Onboard memory is low, and we would have liked an upgraded camera.
Bulky I understand.

No U.S. 3G support on this version (Well they did get a European phone..so that is misleading)

Onboard memory is low (No where in their review do they explain this...Are they referring to RAM or ROM? and are they comparing this to another phone or are their issues with running multiple programs..gah )

We all want more RAM and ROM sure but bigger question is it's impact on the phone's performance and they don't explain this at all which makes me a sad panda

And Camera is obvious...sure 3.2MP is fine but...feels like they kinda went there...or are they trying to have the Diamond2 to stand out from this one more? idk

I agree with all these comments. Bonnie's reviews are not always the most on target; neither are CNETs as a whole. Ever watched Attack of the Show on G4 TV? Every phone they review is compared to the iPhone (of course), and they hate windows mobile, so no winmo device ever has a chance on there either.

Re: CNET First Look HTC Touch Pro2

I usually enjoy bonnie's reviews
this one was not the enjoyable one in the very least. For many of the complaints what did she expect? No 3g uhm european phone. Not enough memory? Based on? 288 mb ram 512 mb rom is actually pretty good
speed of device and comparison didn't have it
surprisingly phonedog.com had a grerat review (about 16 minutes) of touch pro 2 and I think it did it justice

As far as the memory, I think that she was comparing the touch pro 2 and the touch pro 1. Even though both have 512 rom and 288 ram, the touch pro 2 has less available ram after bootup than the touch pro 1, I was watching a video on youtube to where that was pointed out.
