Re: First Android Phone Approved By Fcc!

Yeah, they also have a deal with the FCC where no pictures of the device will be released until October I think. I don't think the device in that video is the final device because it looks half-***** compared to HTC's newer devices. It also matches the reference design shown at the demos. I would imagine the final device will look similar to this but it ought to be a bit more polished when it goes to market. Now I'm just waiting for either TMO to roll out 3g in Baltimore or for an Android device to come out with Sprint.

t-mobile only?! not sure how many new customers they will be able to attract because of it. i had t-mobile 5 years ago but switched soon after. nowadays seems it is the only one without any exciting phones.

Well, with UNlimited plans in the $35 range, its an attractive offer if it wasnt for service issues.

Well, it's just the first of many phones that will likely use the new Google OS so there's no need to jump ship to TMo just yet. This phone looks like it will be sort of a modernized Sidekick and I will probably hold out for a more PPC type Android device. Word is that a few of the big manufacturers are working on phones that will use Android. I imagine that they are waiting to see how the first device(s) sell and work out before going to market with their own Android devices.
