Warning!!!!!

If you contact ATT warranty Center do not mention that you have installed third party software on Your WM, Blackberry, or Palm OS device. They will inform you that you have voided your warranty and refuse to swap any damaged device. Under their new rules which they have yet to publish, the only acceptable software that will not void your handset warranty is software downlodad from ATT or Palms sites. All other software voids the ATT terms of use, and their Warranty.

That's just silly... a Pocket PC or Palm is designed to run 3rd party applications. That is why one buys such a device. To not honour warantee based on unpublished rules make these rules null, void and illegal. That would be like Microsoft no longer publishing patches because you downloaded iTunes.... DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!!!

Well, you should not tell them you jailbroke your iPhone, or flashed a custom rom on your wm phone - that would be a bad idea.

Installing 3rd party apps is easy. Hard reset back to factory default, and there you go. All better.

Sprint will do this for you as the first (or last, depending on the mood of the tech) step in doing repair work. Basically, they don't have to troubleshoot whatever crap you have on there, just what they are trained (barely, if at all) on.

SCHETTJ has it right. The OP must have misunderstood. ATT cannot void warranty based on you installing 3rd Party Apps. They probably could void it for you falshing unofficial ROMS that can damage your device. As long as you can hard reset back to an official ROM your warranty will not be voided.

First, last or ONLY method of trouble shooting?

They do seem to have a hard reset fetish, don't they?

I Can't complain however, since for $100 total in two trips without any insurance at all, they first replaced my entire front half of my 13 month old 6700 when the dpad died, then replaced the whole thinga month later with a refurb mogul (which is running great BTW) when the audio jack crapped out. And yeah, they hard reset it both times, but it was empty anyway since I reflashed to stock roms before going in

With all the complaints about Sprint, they really do take care of their business customers.

Red face heed the warning

troubleshooting 101 in seven easy steps. 1st yank out battery 2nd hard reset (sorry I lost your numbers bro) 3rd tell u to stop downloading 3rd party porno apps 4th call to see if you got insurance! 5th remove water indicator sticker or lick it till it turns pink 6th tell u the sprint store is 500 miles away and closed for the winter. 7th You buy a new phone!
