Expansion of Sprint's Wimax Network: Walmart style!
 

Interesting articled today on pocketnow.com. What do you guys think? Could be good if they put wimax 4g routers in every walmart and provide coverage coast to coast. Strange thing is Walmart doesn't carry Sprint phones but does carry all the other carriers. Maybe Walmart will work an exclusive wimax phone from Sprint :)

That would be sweet for 4G coverage. I'm just down the street from a walmart, at both home and work.

I'm assuming this would help the Clear coverage map, as well?

If Sprint pulls this off coast to coast and gets a high end Android phone I'll become a Sprint customer no matter what their plan prices are. I just hope they can get better coverage than what they currently have. The map shown on this page http://www.androidguys.com/2010/01/1...max-build-out/ suggests that they will only be doing this in the areas that they already have coverage, which would be fail to me since they still would have poor coverage in the whole western half of the US. It's all only rumor and conjecture right now though, I hope they mean "every" Walmart and end up with complete coast to coast coverage.

how good is the coverage tho...closes walmart to me is 5 miles
