thats about normal and actually cheap for the internals on it

with contract they are only making $5 off of the phone, which is why they make you pay $80 a month

Wirelessly posted (Touch Pro 2 (Sprint): Opera/9.5(Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/16643; U; en) HTC_Touch_Pro2)

that cost doesnt include research asn development. It also doesnt include all of the heavy downstream costs involved either. Theres more cost than just the parts. stuff like marketing, ad materials, transportation costs you name it.

Probably about the same it costs to make an iphone, TP2, Droid, Omnia 2 and pretty much any other top end smart phone.

that still doesnt make the phone 550 dollars....im sure they dont need 400 dollars extra per phone to make up the cost of all that u named....google earns enough revenue and can do most of the adds from there own searches and sites....yes there are some on here but how much do u think that all costs?

Theres also such a thing as market demand. Why sell a highly demanded product at a lower cost? Right now, this thing is in high demand, and very limited supply....thus the price will be higher :) Basic economics

Smartphone prices have been around $450-$550 for as long as I can remember. I think its less of a market demand, r&d, advertising (until a little bit ago how often did you see a smartphone advertisement) and more of that's just how it is. I understand R&D costs but HTC made this phone using nothing they haven't used before so its not that high. That goes for most of HTCs phones. But hey that's why you got contracts and ebay.

Even the last generation Touch Pro and Diamonds were over 500.00, and they'll continue to keep selling them at this price (or higher) as long as we keep buying them.
