Moto Q locked into bootloader

Moto Q has bricked. Bootloader complains if not connected USB, but Motorola updater doesn't see it, nor does mtty. Of course, it's out of warranty, but after playing with BuildOS and an HTC Titan, thought I'd give the Q a go. Any thoughts or suggestions to resurrect the poor thing? Or has it become a small piece of building material on a permanent basis?

Know I'm late, but thanks for the input. I think the primary problem is battery charge. As I understand the Q, it has to have a loaded OS in order to charge the battery, so I need to find a battery charger for the Q's battery first. I should then be able to flash it from the SD card and resurrect the poor thing.

Maybe someday soon I'll actually have a charged battery, and then all bets are off!
