Is this a Froyo issue?

With 2.1.1 I had functional "contact" shortcuts on the desktop. If I try to access them, I get an FC error - "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly." So I deleted them and re-created them, with the same result.

So I created a shortcut to a "direct dial" contact, and that seems to function normally. However, it puts an "M" in the top left corner of the contact icon, and a little green phone handset in the top right corner. What good is it to have a picture of someone as their contact icon if you can't see their face?!?!?!

Is this a bug?

Don't think its a bug. I think it tells you what number you dialing M-mobile / H-home. That's what mine does.

Re: Is this a Froyo issue?

ok, that makes sense I guess, but why can't I create a shortcut to a "contact" on the desktop I wonder. Is that a bug?

When VZW releases the update officially, will we see it as an OTA update even though we flashed manually??

Re: Is this a Froyo issue?

You should be able to. Hit shorts cuts and contact appears as 1 of the choices. Then choose your contact.

Re: Is this a Froyo issue?

I'm sorry. I can indeed create a "contact" shortcut, but as I indicated above, when trying to access it there is an error with an associated FC.

Re: Is this a Froyo issue?

I just checked mine and I had duplicate numbers for the same contact. 4 mobile numbers and 4 home numbers. I deleted the contact entered their info again and created the shortcut again with no issues.

Re: Is this a Froyo issue?

It seems to be a Home++ compatibility issue. It works fine with the default launcher.
