Didn't I read somewhere that the Eris a Google experience phone also? It says "with google" on the back and I thought that meant it was a Google experience phone, but then again it does have the Sense UI.

i have added the source to post 1 about the over the air update with details about what is going to be fixed & updated.

im glad to see a phone/network being worked on with the intent to please as many customers as possible. thumbs up verizon motorola and google

Android 2.1 + Sense. Wow, HTC is really pushing it! Looks like multi touch is supported of the box

According to this link, Multi-touch is already enabled and available to programmers in the API, its just not implemented in the core of the OS.

My bet is that they decided to forgo negotiating with apple over their multitouch patent assuming they could do it at a later date rather than delay the phone release.

The good news is that practically ANY program can make use of Multitouch, the bad news is that I think this OTA update ONLY addresses flash, and not other apps.

I would KILL to be able to use multitouch in the texting keyboard. (YES KILL rawr!!)

damn, this lack of flash is a huge deal breaker on an otherwise great looking phone. Most of the sites i go to run flash.

Yeah, flash internet is a huge deal for me too. So far it's the only thing I miss from WM (skyfire) but hopefully it will be here soon. We know its coming, we just dont have a solid date on it's arrival yet. I keep hearing early 2010 so I'm not counting on it being in this first update on the 11th.

It isn't. Per Adobe it will be available in 2010.
