sd card management

if I use the astro file manager and go to the sdcard folder, open it up, I see another sdcard subdirectory......so it's sdard/sdcard/music....pictures....etc.............but if I plug this puppy into the desktop to look at the dir structure of the device, the dir is sdcard/muic, pictures, etc.........know what I mean? Viewing it that way there is no sdcard subdir of the sdcard root. Wat gives?

Do you believe that the contents of your /sdcard/scard/music mirror the contents of /sdcard/music and that they are not distinct directories?

If so then, I'm thinking you might have a symbolic link active that linux sees but Window does not since the concept does not exist in Windows file systems. Are you comfortable with Terminal Emulator or ADB so you can get right into the linux file system to check it out?
