Anyone on here know much about LCD's?

Since I got my phone I have had a black speck that looks to be in or behind the actual LCD, not the screen glass. Everytime I get a light colored our white screen, it draws my attention. It's driving me crazy! Its this even possible for it to show up behind the LCD? It seems to be behind the actual LCD and the backlight projects it through the screen. The reason I think it is behind or in the LCD is because it looks like it is behind items that are scrolling over it. I don't think it's a dead pixel for this reason as well. Would it be possible to get it out of there?

It could be a burn in from something behind the screen overheating (may of been brief) I'd bring it to Verizon and they should swap it out.

Re: Anyone on here know much about LCD's?

It just looks like a black speck. I noticed it the first day. Honestly, this is my 3rd Droid from VZW (all ordered over the phone). I usually don't like swapping them out, but the last two Droids I had were unbearable. Especially the last one. It lived in 1x 90% of the time and had a floppy slider that felt like it was going to fall apart. My first Droid had several issues with freezing and overheating but never left 3G. Now this one works pretty but has this problem. It stays in 3G probably 75% of the time.
The phone I have now came with screwdriver pry marks all over the back from where it was refurbished, but it has been the best running one yet.
WTF is up with Verizon's junky a$$ certified like new Droids???? It pisses me off that I pay so much every month and they can't even provide me with a quality replacement. I pay $160-$180 per month for service on 2 lines.

If you really push it, you can probably get a new Droid retail out of the box, but you'll have to really rip them a new one.

x3 with refurbished problems, I would demand a new replacement.

Re: Anyone on here know much about LCD's?

Yeah, I will do that when I get a chance to. I just hope a new one is better. They told me after the last time that I would have to take it back to the store from now so that they could physically see my problem. I live 70 miles from the nearest store and don't think I should have to drive a 140mi round trip so that they can replace my defective phone. I've been with Verizon for 14 years or so (since the company formed) and they are really starting to get cheap on me, yet my bills keep creeping farther up. Now the ETF is even double what it used to be so I would have to take a mortgage just to get out of it!

argue for a free month of service, to cover the gas price to go round trip lol, After 3 replacements they might give it to you.

Re: Anyone on here know much about LCD's?

I have another replacement unit coming now. They refuse to give me a new one. Even after the 3rd one. If this one is a POS too, I am going take it up the ladder. Getting tired of the run around. The Verizon techs think that a simple hard reset will fix anything. I opened a trouble ticket for the 3G in my area to see if it is my 2 phones problems or the area. If they find it to be the signal, that will atleast free me from an ETF if I choose to spend $180/month with Sprint or T-Mobile for service that is better.
