Re: Overclock Your Droid. (800MHz, 900MHz and 1GHz)

I think that I rooted the phone.
Where do I get the nandroid software from, and are there installation and use instructions there?

Go here: http://www.sholes.info/2010/01/08/sprecovery-0-99-2b/

Download recovery .99.2b. It will have the Nandroid backup built in to it.

Re: Overclock Your Droid. (800MHz, 900MHz and 1GHz)

I've been running 900mhz along with using set cpu to set standby processor to 250Mhz and so far, i've gone through a whole day listening to music, browsing web, and making calls and my battery is at 70%

Re: Overclock Your Droid. (800MHz, 900MHz and 1GHz)

my setcpu was 900MHz/125MHz and i had charging profile 550/125mhz and sleep/standy was 250/125mhz once and i went down 20% an hour... not sure if because i was using the nexus rom and most people using 2.0.1 roms or what but it sucked.

That could be. I have moved back to 2.01 and do not have the issues you are experiencing.

If you installed the flash_image then follow these directions (done on your PC):

adb shell
$ su
su
# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.1b.img
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.1b.img
# reboot
reboot

If not then you will need to put it on your phone (done on your phone) and then follow the above directions:

su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image
chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system

Re: Overclock Your Droid. (800MHz, 900MHz and 1GHz)

Hell, I am not overclocking at all, running stock Android 2.01, and my Droid drains about 10% per hour of casual use. Even on standby I'd be lucky to have the battery last more than 24 hours.

I keep a backup charger at work, in the car, etc.

I wouldn't think 20% per hour is that big of a deal for a good OC.
