How to Install Android Apps (apk) to the Droid

I just got a new Droid today and I'm curious as to how I would install an apk file to my phone. I downloaded an application from the internet that is in .apk format and I'm lost on what to do from there

Re: How to Install Android Apps (apk) to the Droid

Place the file on your Micro SD card. Then you will need a file explorer, I use Astro, explore to the location you put the file and tap on it. Open it with the app installer and it will install.

Thanks for the quick responses. Using the astro file explorer was the easiest method for me
