Phone Contacts vs Google

How can I get all of my gmail contacts onto my phone and or all of my phone contacts into gmail contacts? I only show 18 contacts on my phone and these have all been added or modified since I owned the X. I have synced through the backup tool.

Re: Phone Contacts vs Google

you may have to edit your gmail contacts with the contacts that are on your phone, once all the phone contacts match the gmail contacts then you're set. I had to manually change some things in gmail to get them to reflect on my phone. For example, one contacts pic kept changing back so I had to log onto gmail and fix it there. Otherwise I've used the BA and it works just fine.

Re: Phone Contacts vs Google

I am really interested in some advice for setting up my contacts in Android. I want to sync all contacts via my exchange server into my phone and keep this sync open. I have almost 800 contacts in Outlook on my exchange mailbox. I have heard that if I set this up improperly from the beginning and allow this to sync with gmail contacts that I can screw up my entire contact list. Not to mention the facebook sync which I hear pollutes the contact list. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, I can't stand the way facebook syncs, I don't know about exchange yet, I'm sure I'll have questions soon once they set up my work email.

Re: Phone Contacts vs Google

1. With Outlook, you can export your contacts to gmail then sync to phone
2. I would not use the "Add Account" feature for Facebook unless you want every friend from FB transfered to your Contacts list. Best route is to download FB App from market!!!

Re: Phone Contacts vs Google

Well I reflashed my phone and as expected all of my new or updated contacts are gone.

Ive been using the same contact list since my i700 on PPC2002 and NEVER had such issues in years and years Win Mobile use.

Enter the Android... How freakin hard is it that when I change or add a contact to my phone it updates my google account? Seriously, this is a MAJOR pita.
