Re: Ask me your questions!

right, good catch on that one. wont be long before they have an overclocking utility for it though I'm sure. I wonder what made them underclock it in the first place if they weren't worried about it running in the X at 1 ghz....

Could be simple product differentiation. Wanting the 'X' to be "Top Dog".

Could be parts supply. Most CPU's are 'Speed binned' in that they are all made in the same process/silicon wafer, and then 'tested' at various speeds. They will get tagged at whatever speed they operate at safely. So you are likely to get more of the 'mid-range' parts out of any given wafer.

Could also be some thermal/battery considerations. Since the D2 is a little smaller, maybe it can't expel quite as much heat.

All of this is just my speculation of course.

There has been a lot of speculation on the final spec for that, but I looked at some VZW catalog scans this morning, and it does look like 1Ghz is now official.

Re: Ask me your questions!

Just read an article about jailbroken iPhones being able to play Netflix Streaming videos... is this something that might become a possibility with Froyo X or D2 in the future?
