Re: Outlook

Use the Mail application, setting it up is pretty straight forward. I have my work exchange going to my Evo no problem, and I had it setup on my Droid1 fine as well.

Re: Outlook

I didn't set anything up with Gmail. All my Exchange settings are in the regular Mail app and I am good to go.

Re: Outlook

The driod uses WIFI or the wireless broadband to access the exchange server. You do not tether or use activsync as you may have before. the exchange server may use Activsync Server, but the Droid will not work with the desktop app.

This is only as I understand it based on my companies exchange policies and support.

It depends on whether you are using Outlook with Exchange or not.

Regular Outlook user (not exchange), you can sync with an Android phone by Exporting your contacts, saving it as a CSV file. Go into your Gmail account and upload the CSV file in your contacts. You may need to fix the contact entries because they may not transfer correctly (titles becomes first names, etc.) To sync your calendar, use Google Calendar Sync.

Or, you could use paid programs to do this. I tried Companion Link and was not terribly impressed with it but that's just me. I think the program cost $29.99 but you can try it before you buy.
