FathomDroid???
Since the XDA-Developer's Fathom Android scene is pretty dead I was wondering if any our own LG Fathom cook's were or are interested in picking up the project and running with it?
I mean it has potential and I think we'd all hate to see that go unnoticed and see the success of android almost running at a stable state on it die... So I thought I'd create a thread, to see who else was interested and what the unseen news is about it all. |
Re: FathomDroid???
For those arriving to this thread, here is the link to the xda-developers thread:
Android for LG Fathom (WIFI+Bluetooth+Audio) - xda-developers I tried it myself the other day: ran it about an hour but I found it so alpha to my taste (altought I think it's worthy) but the development seems stalled and I don't know if that source code is available to pick it up from there and not from scratch. |
Re: FathomDroid???
I've tried the community port that was posted above as well. It runs... but it's not stable or very useful if you're on a CDMA network. The biggest problem is that one of the developers has announced that they've left the development because they switched phones, and the other developer hasn't responded in a long time. I'm hoping that one of them will be able to provide the source they've used as a base to get some port working.
I'd still love to know how the developers got Android working on other HTC WM Phones, since that would be a good place to start developing a pure Android ROM. |
Re: FathomDroid???
