UPDATE: LG Fathom Emergency Download Mode Code

Since the "New & Improved" crap for an update utillity forced itself upon my PC,
I' sure that at least 50 of us have suffered through this.
I found this:

Emergency Download Mode Steps:
1. Turn off the LG Fathom VS750
2. Press “5″
3. Press “Power button” while “pressing 5 ” keystrokes.
4. Check the front LED is green and the screen displays “Emergency download.”

You can now connect your phone using the USB cable and use fashing tools to fix your LG Fathom VS750

Caution: Remember to backup your files before flashing. This will erase all of your personal data.


And guess what, this actually works...
Just try it and see. If you want to abort the download, just tap the reset button...
Who ever wrote that bit about "pull the battery, then press a few buttons---- HOLD IT RIGHT THERE ---

What is going to happen with battery out of the unit?
You could press the Davinci Code and nothing will happen without power...
Unless you posses the "Glowing One Perk".
Pluging the power cord into a unit without the battery only prompts you to "Insert a Battery".

FYI, you can also simply reset the phone while holding the "5" key to enter emergency download mode.

Edit: Successfully downgraded from version 7 to version 5.

I tried to extract the nv from the phone but CDMA Workshop just spit out a txt file that is only 502 kbs.
QPST lets me edit some of the stuff but I can't extract anything.

I could setup the unit for Multi Image Download, but I'm not sure I have all the right files.

If I could find the kernel for this version of Snapdragon, I could probly load Froyo or GB.
Or maybe even PartedMagic...

A more stable ROM of Win 6.5.3 that would free some RAM and get rid of that ArcSoft crap would be excellent!

Btw, does V5 have the "hotspot" app installed?

If not, is there a way to get it?

The "Hotspot" app is not included, but you can use WMWIFiRouter to avoid having to pay for tethering from Verizon. It could probably be pulled too.
I'll be able to play with a 2nd fathom running the V5 rom in a few weeks, so then we'll be able to see for real. I could try pulling as many files as I can and reflash (I've gotten sick of the bugs with the V7 rom)
