Internet Sharing in V5

I just downgraded to V5 due to the internet explorer not holding a connection with the data service and I'm having troubles with the Internet Sharing. I had this problem with V4 also. When I open it up, it won't let me select anything. I can hit the drop down menus or connect or the "x" but nothing happens. I'm using the internet sharing out of the windows folder. Is there something you have to do to make this work?

This internet sharing doesn't really work anymore. You need to try another program. I use WMWiFiRouter, because Verizon won't block it. PDANet may work, but don't count on it.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I know it works in V7, but it doesn't for some reason in V5. Oh well. I have used teh WMWiFiRouter before and liked it. I'll try it again.

Thanks!

Personally for me, WMWiFiRouter USB works teh best, charges the phone and sucks down data quicker and more efficient than WiFi...

Re: Internet Sharing in V5

I installed a internet sharing cab file and I can select things now, but when I select connect I get this message "Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To change your connection settings, tap settings."

I wonder if there is a way to change something to make this work...

I also can't get WMWiFiRouter to work. I haven't tried wifi yet through it, but when I hook it up to USB the phone says it's connected, but I don't get internet access on my PC. Does yours work fine?

Re: Internet Sharing in V5

mine works just fine thru all settings, but when you use the usb setting for the first time for WMWiFiRouter or the internet sharing, Windows has to install RAPI Internet drivers to see your phone as an internet connection instead of a phone, and you loose your activesync connection.
the best way to get results is to have the phone unplugged from the pc as you enable and initilize the sharing, then plug it in. it'll see a new device and install (hopefully)
good luck
