ipad capabilities

can anyone tell me if ipad or wii is capable of doing netflix? also can an ipad be connected to my lcd tv to project netflix? this would require an hdmi out right? is this something only the ipad 2 has?

The Wii can do netflix if you order the free netflix cd from them.
