dropped phone too many times, now problems.

well, i think my last drop to the cement (out of many) finally did it. Wanted to post for documentation purposes

-sometimes phone unresponsive, touch screen doesn't respond, like the phone lagging.
-erroneous screen touches. I tap bottom right and it hits bottom left instead. this is very apparant when trying to close, open, open onscreen keyboard.

strangly, knocking the phone to shake it seems to help the above two problems.

-incoming calls no rings, however in settings I can set the ringtone and hear it.

probably shooting in the dark here, but..
I wonder If it hit a heat sink off or something, the way it's acting reminds me of when my computer cpu is overheating. maybe the knocks hit it back on?h Sometimes the phone acts perfectly, and sometimes it starts freezing up pretty bad.

I'm on the sero plan, I wonder if can get them to do a phone upgrade plan while keeping my sero acct. if not I'll go the ebay route.

Re: dropped phone too many times, now problems.

after three days it just miraculously returned back to normal. Strange but I'm glad it did. love this phone. Was gonna upgrade to touch pro, but it didn't seem like a large upgrade anyway.

Re: dropped phone too many times, now problems.

I have actually been quite shocked by my XV6900's durability. So far I have dropped it numerous times, taken one swim in the pool with it and spilled a Gin and Tonic on it. After 2 days of drying, it survived the pool, other than some scuffs and scratches, dropping hasn't done anything to it. The Gin & Tonic however, made the buttons stick, that took awhile to go away.
